Just got finished installing a SuperTrapp. They are still having the same manufacturing problem. The expanded part of the muffler connection is not long enough to slip the muffler far enough up the head pipe to allow the mounting bolts to align to the frame. I was able to get one bolt to align, so I completed the hook-up and tried it out. It really does make a difference! The local muffler shop took a look at my arrangement and said they could enlarge the muffler pipe the correct amount for a small fee.
One unexpected result of mounting the SuperTrapp was a reduction in the amount of vibration at 60 to 70 MPH. The engine seems to be under less stress at high RPM and acceleration is improved, particularly noticeable when carrying a passenger.
Now, if I could only replace 5th gear with a one a bit higher in ratio ...
